I noted in some of the postings something about a T207 Davis with a blue D on the cap. This is not just a myth, there is no sense to it since the only Davis in the set is Harry with Cleveland Amer. There are, though, two different Mullin, Detroit. One has a blue D on the cap and one has no blue D. Don't know if this is of any interest. Just chiming in. |

Davis comes with a white C and a brown C, I think I have posted pictures and started a thread awhile ago on this. Dan. |

Sorry, but one does exist. I've seen a 207 Davis, graded by PSA, with a designation "Blue 'C'" on cap. There's at least one out there. |

Well if it is graded by PSA then I am sure there is one out there. Are you sure it was even a T207 in that holder?? |

If you check out the PSA pop. report, you'll see that there is 1 (one) PSA graded T207 Harry Davis, "Blue 'C' on Cap" listed, in a grade of 6. Hope this helps. It's quite obviously a blue C. |

As I stated above, I have seen this card, and it's quite obviously a blue "C." As for the scan, I would need permission from the card's owner. I have seen it. It IS blue, and it does exist. I offered the PSA pop report to show that one has been graded. |

My posting was regarding a T207 Blue D, not C. The blue D was mentioned in some postings. Yes there are T207 Lewises with and without the emblem. I was the first to report that. T207 is a very screwy set in that regard. The Lewises I have are with patch is a Cycle and without is a Broadleaf. These grading places are a whole different story. I doubt any of the graders have ever collected T207s, much less knows the difference between Duffy Lewis and Irving Lewis. |

There is no such animal as a Davis with blue C on the cap. It is a myth. Much line the Heinie Wagner T206 on ebay recently which PSA graded and labeled "T206 Honus Wagner." Much like the T207 Easterly which which was graded and designated by PSA as "T206 Easterly." There was an E-90-1 on ebay recently which was graded and identified as a T206. Need I go on? The color and pose variation mistakes by PSA are numerous and often comical such as identifying a particular card as a blue background when it has a red background or a portrait pose and the guy is in the stretch throwing the ball. |

Brown old mill exists, I sent Pete a scan for his website. "PSA pop report states it" Good thing I was sitting down when I read that! I only fell a small distance to the floor laughing my ash off!!!! |

I'm offering a humble retraction here - I've now seen the blue "C" T207 Davis and I can confirm that it is absolutely & incontrovertibly blue. This is the only one I've ever seen. It may be a printing "mistake", but no more so than the t207's like Mullin no "D". |

How cool! can someone post a blue cap on another T207 so we can compare the coloring? |

I agree - interesting to see the card that we thought didn't exist actually does exist. I don't believe there's another t207 with that same white insignia on a dark blue cap. There are a few other players with blue caps, but the color is lighter. |

Thanks for posting the scan. As we have said many times before, printing freaks are not true variations. I guess it is all in the eye of the beholder though. I have seen numerous T206s which are lacking the red color but except for Sweeney, are not recognized as true variations. I have also seen orange back T206s instead of red, ditto. If no other blue C turns up, I would categorize it as a printing freak. Its value would be based on what the market would bear, there is always a market for printing freaks. I am trying not to sound like I have a sour grapes attitude (who me?) but this is not a true variation although I now concede that a blue C does exist. |

I vote true variation as I do not think the blue C was created by any color missing. Same as the blue hat on fisher. dan. |
