I don't normally collect post cards but found this one interesting. The scan is kinda chopped at the top but the card is complete. No printer/manufacturer markings on the back. Anyone have any info? |

I'll be interested in responses to this post because I picked up the exact same photo at an antique show last year. The fact that there are at least two of these photos of the Babe out there may mean that these images were mass produced. Mine has "Babe, 1942" written on the back of it, and appears to be hand-cut. I took it around to dealers at a card show and I think the balance of them were skeptical that it was from the period (mid to late teens), but all agreed it was a cool image, and one they had not seen before, and for under $100 it probably wasn't too bad of a deal. |
