Always keep these things in mind:
1) There is a LOT of dispute in the hobby about what consitutes a "card." Did it have to be widely distributed? Did it have to be part of a set? Did it have to be card-sized and not a big picture? Did it have to come with a product or could it be an advertising piece?? THESE ARE ALL MATTERS OF OPINION AND CHOICE.
2) There is a LOT of dipsute in the hobby about what constitutes a "rookie." Does an "update" or "traded" set count? Does a minor league card count? Does a card count if it was only offered by one store in the whole World and not part of a large set? THESE ARE ALSO MATTERS OF OPINION AND CHOICE.

These debates will NEVER end ... which is what keeps our hobby invigorated...
so collect WHICHEVER "rookie" "cards" you like personally and don't worry about what other people think!!!
