The Billiken cards from Cuba are very rare, and when they do show up for sale they are usually plagued by condition problems, bugholes, damage, etc. This example has survived in absolutely fantastic condition with no creasing, staining, and just a touch of corner wear. The image quality is bold and rich with great contrast, and the back is very clean. Krueger was a serviceable big league catcher for parts of eight different seasons in the teens and twenties, and he is undoubtably on very few American cards, none that I know of. The card is beautiful and very evocative of the era with period automobiles and stadium advertising visible in the background. Perfect for a high grade type collection. $575 ppd. |
