Football trophy question

Hi-
I recently purchased the figure below at a local flea market. Am I correct in assuming it is the top of a trophy? If so, does anyone have a picture of the trophy they could share? Also, does anyone know approximately when the trophy was made? The figure is marked with what appears to be WB CO. Copyright USA on the back. Is this the Wilkes Barre Trophy Company? Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide.
