I just picked up a old scrap book that has approximately 87 signatures including 2 ted Williams, Joe Dimaggio, Jackie Robinson, Larry Berra, Luke Appling, Phil Rizzuto |

If you ask me, I think taking that book apart would be a tragedy. It's a piece of history in and of itself. Think of the effort that went into putting it together. |

I agree with Greg, in that it would be nice to keep the book together, but to maximize value I would remove them, have them authenticated, have the cuts framed and matted with an 8x10 to make displayable. At least do that with the Dimgaggio, Williams, and Robinson cuts. |

Even DiMaggio and WIlliams are not worth the price of authentication when cut like that. I really dont know if taking it apart will maximize anything since almost all of the signatures in that book are going to be less than $10 on ebay with the exceptions of the Williams and DiMaggio (maybe $50 each in that shape) and probably $200 for the Robinson. I would probably either keep it together or remove the Robinson and sell the rest as a lot. Unless there is a really rare name in there, signatures like that just are not rare enough for there to be a strong market when oddly cut since it would be hard to display them. However, they are really nice when viewed in their totality in the book. Just my opinion. |

There are many clubhouse (not authentic) signatures in the scans. The following are not real, and have no value whatsoever: |

If you absolutely needed to maximize value which auto authenticator would you use? | Archive | Net54baseball Vintage (WWII & Older) Baseball Cards & New Member Introductions | 3 | 09-02-2006 01:54 PM |
