Does anyone know much about the E254 Colgans back variation that has '208 in present series' below the normal printing on the card. I have a couple hundred Colgans and this is the only one I have with that and the only one I've seen. Any idea on value. I believe it's on Meyer of Newark. Will post a picture at a later time. Thanks for any info..... |

I have never seen any of the "208" backs, but Lew Lipset in his Encyclopedia mentions that several Colgans (at the time of printing in the mid 80's) had been found with the back you mentioned. It sounds like you have a nice, extremely rare back variation. |

some of which he bought without knowing it in a collection. They are QUITE rare, he says. I have 132 Colgan's and NONE of those. |
