I was bidding on the Gypsy Queen Galvin and was willing to go close to the high bid, but not quite. I live near SportscardsPlus, so I saw the card in person. It was absolutely fabulous. It had the nicest picture I had ever seen on any N172 or N175. It just had round corners and a little back damage. I'm not surprised it went for so much. I just wish the Harry Wright went for about $1K less.

I almost had the feeling that GAI was saying to SGC--notioriously hard on 19th century backless cards-- "anywhere you can go I can go lower." You didn't have to see it up close to see what a beautiful picture it was; and, as for round corners, I've seen a lot rounder on Gypsy Queens (wonder why so many of them have rounded corners?).

S.C.P. also provided a nice big scan. Sniff.
