That's a damn cool card! Thanks for sharing it with us. I appreciate the fact that you have always freely shared images of some of the cards in your incredible collection. I have noticed that very often, people with high-end or "advanced" collections will not share anything about what they have, let alone post scans for others to see. Just wanted to say thanks.

Dito on the thanks for the scan, Leon. I've only seen a few Texas Tommies, and they were all were all of common players. And none in that nice of condition either.

You are very welcome. I thought about just emailing you personally but then thought that that would just help to perpetuate the problem. For some reason folks are secretive in our hobby. Maybe they think if they talk about, or show their cards, it would seem they are a braggadocio ......I personally think it is all in the context of your conversation. If you listen to others about their stuff and then talk about yours a little bit I see no harm. I also think that some folks think if they share knowledge it will somehow hurt their odds of buying cheaply. Not quite sure about that but my thoughts have always been to try to help folks..and true I have only been doing this a relatively short time but will always share what I know.....for me it's just a hobby, albeit an expensive, addictive one... stay tuned as next week I will probably be posting something on the board that most members have not ever seen .....regards

It's a great-looking card - this is a great way for us to learn about more obscure issues that we'll probably never see in real life...especially guys like me who don't make it to card shows often.

I think some people keep their fine collections secret for a variety of reasons including, 1) They don't want to appear to be showing off, 2)Someone will inevitably say, "I know where you got that card: at Leland's for $2,000. You paid too much." .... Not that I have any espensive cards, but I don't mind showing off my stuff here and there. But I don't like people to know what I paid or what I where I go it (Want the appearance of having pulled it out of thin air). Example coversation between me and my wife:

Pam: "That's interesting. What did you pay for it?"
David: "You don't want to know."
Pam: "Sure I want to know. What did you pay?"
David: "If you really want to know, I'll tell you."
Pam: "You're right, I don't want to know."
