Show one if you want to. This type card is one reason I go to the national. The main reason is to see friends I have known for 25+ yrs....And to meet people I work with everyday but haven't met.
This is the only 1936 Home Run Candy Foxx I have seen but no doubt there are a few more out there. The redemption on back is on very, very few...so not sure there is another redeemed Foxx out there. IF so, I am a buyer (as well as any of these, for that matter)I am excited to add this to the other 17 I have. (I feel like DJ, hoarding all the red backed Crofts)

Sorry, but this is the oldest one I have (for now). After watching "No No: A Dockumentary," I wanted to find a card that captured Dock and the '70s Pirates -- I think this one does that.
The people I worked with at every stage of the CGC/JSA process at the National -- for in-show submissions and autograph guest authentication -- were hands down the friendliest and most helpful of any show I've been to. I've loved SGC since I got back into the hobby, but they don't do autos and they're going the way of the dinosaurs. PSA slabs just look generic to me and we all know what they're like to deal with. I'm all in on GCG going forward.

I entrusted them with two true rarities at the show for take-home grading. They encouraged me to send them my research on the cards. Seemed very reasonable and willing to work with collectors. Now that SGC is part of the Evil Empire, I am rooting for CGC to become a good alternative for vintage. I also really like their holders. I've made a few subs. The baseball I have:

How do CGC cards sell compared to the comparable PSA / SGC graded cards?

It depends on whether you are buying cards or numbers.

Have they changed their flip yet again?

I am not anti grading, and I have hundreds of graded cards in my collection, yet I've never thought of them as an "SGC card," "PSA card," etc. The "cards" are identified by their maker, year of issue and/or player pictured. To each his own, I guess.

They did a nice job with the E104-1 Swift Backs. Their holders are nice, light and likely made off Polycarbonate. CGC holders dont fracture the way the sgc dated holders do when you crack something out. I think they are the real alternative TPG who will continue to be credible

I love the ultra-clear slabs, don't love the flips, seems like a lot of wasted space. For PC stuff I've got no problem with them. For selling in sticking with PSA as long as there's a significant price differential.

If they would ditch those penny sleeves, I'd likely give CGC a try. But I hate looking at my cards through 2 layers of plastic. At least they appear to do it right for the tobacco cards.

Are these what their holders look like now? If so, wow! What an improvement!

I like the holders but for some reason the CGC hologram or whatever that is ..
Distracts me - When I look at Gary’s Hoyt card my eyes keep averting to the hologram |

I agree as well as with the comments about the busy flip. That being said, I have one CGC card and I love the holder. Really well done.

I really like the CGC flip. It looks clean and professional.
The thing that distracts me about my Hoyt is that I was hoping for a 4. There's no creases so a 3 seems a bit harsh. But it looks great in the CGC slab.

I appreciate them knowing what a real stamped back looks like and not being scared to grade them. Quote:
