Although net54 is undoubtedly 'just' a buying/selling venue, I hope there are still traders about.
Below are three different examples of a wide range of valuable cards that are available for trade. (Please note: New additions will be added in separate posts if and when I acquire trips of them, and not back here in the OP.) • I purposely haven't put a specific dollar trade value on anything. We all know what these guys are generally 'worth,' so treat me fairly and I'll do the same. • If you're interested in a card/cards, please let me know from the outset what types of stuff you have to trade. • There is a list of things I am generally interested in posted below. • If you have any questions or are interested in talking, give me a shout!! **Technical note: Some pics are amalgams, where I combined different scans from different times, especially if I had an additional card available (quads?) after one found a new home.** **I need to hold onto at least one of the 'best' of each grouping for my PC.** 1968 Topps #280 Mickey Mantle Officially, the last playing days 'Mick' card... TRIPS01-1968Mantle280.jpg 1961 Topps #576 Roger Maris All Star Sixty one in '61 high number... TRIPS03-1961MarisAS576.jpg 1977 Burger King #23 Lou Piniella Steinbrenner said, "Frickin' add Lou to the set!!!," and they complied, but way too late in the run... TRIPS04-1977PiniellaBK23.jpg 1963 Fleer NNO Checklist Short printed (and usually marked up by kids) makes this one a rarity... TRIPS05-1963FleerChecklistNNO.jpg 1961 Topps #577 Hank Aaron All Star 'Hammerin' Hank' in his prime... TRIPS06-1961AaronAS577.jpg The 'MC' is a bothersome BS technicality. The entire back of the Aaron card is all there, but the tiniest sliver of black from the adjoining card appears at bottom. That's it. This scan is from before it was graded... TRIPS06b-1961AaronAS577BACK.jpg 1968 Topps #45 Tom Seaver Second-year 'Tom Terrific.' Check out what similar cards are going for on eBay... TRIPS02-1968Seaver45.jpg 1964 Topps #331 A.L. Bombers A wonderful sun-splashed moment at Yankee Stadium captured for eternity... TRIPS07-1964ALBombers331.jpg 1972 Topps #255 Julius Erving ABA All Star 'Dr. J' getting it done against his future team on this rookie year card... TRIPS09-1972ErvingAS255.jpg 1966 Topps #303 Indians Team 'No Dot' Variation Wicked tough short-printed error... TRIPS10-1966IndiansNODOT303b.jpg 1960 Topps #563 Mickey Mantle All Star 'The Mick' looking to book a long trip for an incoming pitch... TRIPS11-1960MantleAS563.jpg 1967 Topps #128 Ed Spiezio 'Most of SPIE Missing' Variation A career .238 hitter whose card is sought by everyone... TRIPS12-1967SpiezioVAR128.jpg I am particularly interested in these: • HOF'ers in nice shape from the 50's through early 70's (preferably graded, but open to cards in their natural state) • Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Mickey Mantle, Sandy Koufax, Jackie Robinson, Ted Williams, Roberto Clemente, Babe Ruth and Nolan Ryan cards • 1971 Topps Greatest Moments • Tough to find errors and variations from the 50's through the early 70's • 1964 Topps Stand-Ups (need virtually any in nice shape) • 1961-67 Topps high numbers and SP's • 1963 Fleer BB stars and HOF'ers in nice shape • 1967 Laughlin World Series (with address on back) in high grade • Major HOFer rookie cards • 1954 Bowman BB stars and HOF'ers in nice shape • 1954 Red Heart BB (need virtually any in nice shape) • And who knows what else?

TRIPS15-1973Schmidt615.jpg 1961 Topps #578 Mickey Mantle All Star Up, up and away the pricing of this tough '61 high number continues to go... TRIPS16-1961MantleAS578.jpg 1972 Topps #754 Frank Robinson Traded An awesome card from the ultra cool high number 'Traded' subset... TRIPS17-1972RobinsonTraded754.jpg 1966 East Hills #21 Roberto Clemente A delectable, blank-backed regional issue... Update: The extra Clemente has been traded, so these are no longer available.

More deliciousness...
1965 Topps #134 WS Game #3 - Mantle's Clutch HR The pitched ball sitting in the catcher's mitt 'identifies' as a long home run... TRIPS19-1965MantlesClutchHR134.jpg 1972 Topps #434 Johnny Bench In Action If a pitch can be used as a metaphor for centering, this card is ALWAYS found way off the plate... TRIPS20-1972BenchIA434.jpg 1961 Topps #531 Jim Coates A tough, tough 1961 high number, and a Yankee to boot... TRIPS22-1961Coates531.jpg 1970 Topps #712 Nolan Ryan Not only an early card of the 'Ryan Express,' but it also came out the year after the 'Miracle Mets' showed Baltimore who's boss, and it's a frickin' tough high number. A perfect cardboard storm... TRIPS21-1970Ryan712.jpg 1966 Topps #50 Mickey Mantle Getting primed to put the fear of God into right handed hurlers... TRIPS25-1966Mantle50.jpg 1972 Topps #52 Harmon Killebrew In Action An absolutely 'Killer' (get it?) card to find centered... TRIPS24-1972KillebrewIA52.jpg

Is the Eddie Mathews/Mickey Mantle mis cut you have up for trade? If so let me know what you put for a dollar value on it.
Finding new trading partners can be hard in general. It is hard to find someone who doesn't want WAY more for their card than it is worth while at the same time offering little to nothing for the others card(s). |
