Jefferson Burdick listed Golden in the directory of card collectors that he published in Card Collectors Bulletin in 1937, giving his address as Noroton Heights, Conn. There's a photo here (see the March 1937 issue, #3):
https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=241674 Golden also appeared in the collector directory that Burdick published in the April 1, 1940 issue of CCB (#5), with the same address but with "All cards picturing sports desired." Scroll down in the above post to see that directory. I assume that these directories (and probably this post of mine) are the source of the "1937 directory" and "1940" elements of the info you've listed. However, I'm not sure where "Park Pl", "unemployed", or "Post Office 1950" came from. He may very well have been mentioned other times in CCB, but if so I don't remember off the top of my head. I assume that the birth and death dates are from the databases available online and accessible through sites such as Ancestry.com. Last edited by trdcrdkid; 03-05-2025 at 07:43 AM. |

I looked him up on the social security death index (via familysearch, free but you need an account)
Death October 1986 Southport, Fairfield, Connecticut Birth 7 July 1901 Some of the other people listed had an exact death date, and some of them have only the month Southport is not far from Darien This entry on "ancientfaces.com" has a few more details scraped from databases; I have no idea if they are accurate. Seems like his profession may be specific to his time in the service. https://www.ancientfaces.com/person/...h-1986/8055352 --> Military Service Military serial#: 31167290 Enlisted: August 5, 1942 in Hartford Connecticut Military branch: Branch Immaterial - Warrant Officers, Usa Rank: Private, Selectees (enlisted Men) Terms of enlistment: Enlistment For The Duration Of The War Or Other Emergency, Plus Six Months, Subject To The Discretion Of The President Or Otherwise According To Law Professional Career Laboratory Technicians And Assistants |
