Here is a scarce one, albeit this one has a few creases.
1912 T207 Rafael Almeida, a Cuban who played for the Cincinnati Reds. If you look closely at the bottom back…..it does not have the tobacco company listed, only Factory No 3 District Louisiana. These a VERY SCARCE and few in numbers and are called Anonymous Factory Backs. They came from various tobacco companies from Virginia and Louisiana…..this one being Louisiana. I’m accepting offers on this card, payment will be by PPFF or PPGS (add 3%) I will pay shipping and insurance in the US. All sales final Message me if interested. .IMG_3182.jpg IMG_3185.jpg IMG_3186.jpg IMG_3187.jpg IMG_3188.jpg IMG_3189.jpg Last edited by JJ McGraw; 02-03-2025 at 09:16 AM. |

I thought Almeida only appeared in the Red Cycle and Recruit back series. Must be a 1/1.

I’ve never seen another one, they are called Anonymous Factory Backs and apparently are very scare and in low numbers out there. It would be great if it was indeed a 1/1.

Almeida is available with four backs. In order of commonness (in my opinion):
Broadleaf [large gap] Anon Factory 3 [small gap] Cycle [unknown size gap] Anon Factory 25 (see https://www.net54baseball.com/pictur...ictureid=38215 for all four Almeida cards together) By no means a 1/1, nor a Factory #2, but not the easiest card, nonetheless. GLWS, Mike -- Mike Frohme |

Here is more information on the Anonymous Back cards, still hoping to sell it here, open to offers before I move it to other venues. I know it is rare and has value, but I have had to educate myself on this and T207 cards in general ( as I plan to sell my small collection of T207’s and continue to grow my T206 collection).I feel the community here is the most fair and also helpful in situations like this.

It's an awesome and very tough card, but it's not worth a ton. If you take offers for awhile, I'd bet the best offer would be around $125.

Well Luke, if that would be the best offer, I’ll display it in the baseball room as one of the first two Cubans to play in the Major Leagues ( as it is still a very presentable card and as even you say, scarce) and enjoy it. The story and enjoyment of who the player was, etc is worth way more than $125 to me.
And I’m not being flippant or condescending, I actually mean what I wrote above. And the best thing is, even though I’m not collecting T207’s ( never really was , years ago I got this Almeida along with 15 others) , I learned something about the Anonymous Factory back. I’m going to keep my two NY Giants and the Almeida and sell the other 13 shortly. Last edited by JJ McGraw; 02-03-2025 at 04:22 PM. |
