Default Collections Lost to Disasters

I have been watching the television coverage of the devastation from the ongoing fires in LA County and it is heartbreaking. I am blessed to live in an area in the Mid-Atlantic where the only real concern may be an occasional hurricane. But I have often wondered how many nice collections have been lost over the years due to natural disasters (not theft) like hurricanes, tornados, fires, floods, mudslides and earthquakes, etc.

Obviously lives are more important than any "stuff" accumulated but can anyone recall a large collection being unfortunately lost in this manner?

I believe Reggie Jackson lost his collection in the Oakland Hills Fire.

He also lost 35 cars of his extensive collection to a warehouse fire in 1988.

Not as sad as losing all his money to his crooked business manager
