Always Something New to Find...

As most of you know I am in the process of auctioning one of the closest to completion E107 sets ever put together. While scanning cards for the next auction, I came across a production oddity that I have not seen before in handling well over 1,000 E107's in my 30+ years of collecting them.

A wet sheet transfer on Ginger Beaumont, creating a very clear ghost image on the back of the card...

It's a little hard to see on the screen. Is it any more clear on the card? I can make out some of it.
Stacked on top of each other at printing?

Agree with Leon, another picture would be helpful. It almost looks like bleed from the front, but hard to tell from that picture.

Yes it's a wet sheet transfer, from the sheet be stacked on the previous sheet. It's a little darker in person, you can see the caption transfer as well(there is no such thing as bleed through)

Thanks, just very hard to tell from that scan.

I played around with the contrast, etc. to show off the transfer better (perhaps somewhat closer to what it looks like in hand).

I've not come across nearly the amount of e107s you have, but from my experience, e107s are a very "clean" set. I can't recall any sort of a printing gaffe or oddity from this issue up to this point. A wet-sheet transfer like this one would probably be the biggest one I've seen so far!

I do remember your group of e107s auctioned off in September contained one player with a diamond cut as well, which I thought was kind of neat. I think it was Criger....never seen one of those before either....

That was actually me monkeying around with Scott's scan...who knows if I made it more visible than it is by the naked eye.

Perhaps Scott can let us know how closely this updated scan represents the card's back.

Your scan certainly shows the transfer better, but is probably a little darker than the card in person, even though it is immediately visible when one flips it over. Thanks for the better image..
