I 'm down to a 53 Mantle, 55 Koufax, 56 Mantle, and an autographed Bobby Richardson 1957 rookie card. Contacted PSA and told grading cost alone was approximately 529.00. I find this very high. Could I recoup this if I sell ? No card would likely grade higher than a 4. Thanks.

The '53 Mantle, '55 Koufax and '56 Mantle are highly collected and 'important' cards with continuously strong demand, so you should expect to get extremely nice pricing on them (assuming they have decent enough 'eye appeal'). I can't speak to the autographed Richardson rookie.
It boils down to how much you have into the cards (what you paid for them, especially if it was recently) and how you would sell them (accounting for fees, etc.), to determine if the additional $500+ cost becomes a burden.

I'd sell them raw for slightly less than what they would grade. So if one looks like a good contender for a 3, sell it for a 2.5 price. Of course this all depends on centering, eye appeal etc.
Most raw dealers would just list them for graded prices, and nobody sees an issue with that. So that's also an option.
