I was watching that one. Awesome pickup!

A dumb question... How do you display these Negatives? It would be epic to have the original negative used to make a Turkey Red... especially such a unique image as this.

I'm just curious as to how you plan to show it off... do you back-light it to make the image more visible?

I picked this up for a friend. He paid a hefty price, IMO. The corners lock to give it a frame like look. There is also a Harvey Kuenn, Chuck Hiller and Billy Pierce. Two more sets of four more Giants are rumored to exist but my buddy has never seen them. The artist, Mickey Sego, lived his whole life in Ohio. I'm wondering what the Giants connection was. Has anyone seen something similar for other teams/players?

I think that is the big question that might keep negatives from reaching the same type of peak as the photos even though each negative is technically a 1 of 1.
I think some sort of a display with a rear light source is what is needed. My concern would be heat from the light source on acetate negatives. Glass ones would probably be less of an issue. I have not looked to see if there is anything already created for this purpose, but would be interesting to look into.

Picked up these two tough postcards earlier this month. They came from the 1969 Detroit Auto Show. Back row, Earl Wilson, Bill Freehan, Gates Brown. Seated, left to right are Joe Sparma, Jim Northrup, Mickey Stanley.

The advertising scoreboard/scorer sickness continues. Found this scorer that I have never seen before. Manually, move the bottle every inning.

Very cool. Are the Bklyn and NY fixed? If so, I’m guessing it was made for a World Series? Also, I’m trying to figure out those tabs on each side…

No, the team dials are not fixed. There are 12 teams on the dials, including NY Yankees, Brooklyn Dodgers, Red Sox, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, Philly, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee and Washington. The dials on the left control the teams and the dials on the right control the runs for each team. The seller placed a date of circa 1950's.

Thank you. After losing out on the Old Crow scorer (below), I was ecstatic to find the Hunter Whiskey piece and quickly close the deal.

My plan hopefully is to frame it back lit with LED along with a rpint of the photo, an original t3 and a Lobert signature. My wife did one for me for my original in camera 8x10 negative from Citizen Kane. It looks GREAT and I only turn it on to look at it so I dont think the light exposure will do anything to the glass slide. I am more concerned about getting the glass slide in the frame without damaging but my wife has a few ideas

I wish I could show a video of it but dont know how to post video on here. It has a switch on the side with about 5 brightness displays. This one is a little more easy to do since its a regular 8x10 negative that was in camera. This goes right next to the photo i have signed by Welles.

Fantastic display, Sean! Thanks for answering questions from the two Marks! Hope you'll post some pics of the Hans Lobert piece, once it's completed.

And great pickups, Dean... Those Giant Scorers are "off the charts cool".

I just got back from 2 weeks in Tennessee and North Carolina. I found this Hire Root Beer cardboard sign in an antique store on the NC coast. Who would have thought?

Been some time since posting in this section for me. Actually picked up this newspaper a while back but forgot about it. Huge 1917 paper with large write up about one of my favorite subjects, the White Sox. What really got me though was the mention of the upcoming world series and the photos of six of the soon to be 1919 " Black Sox".

Awesome pickup. I have looked at so many of those over the years, only to find they are restored in some way. Virtually impossible to find them all-original. One of the best funky '70s-style jerseys for sure!

I started collecting Indianapolis tobacco-era items earlier this year. I originally joined this site a few weeks back to find this card without paying the standard 20% eBay markup/buyer's premium. It only took five days for it to happen thanks to another member!

I've received expert education on MANY things in the weeks since.

Thanks! I put this style right up with the Astros and A’s uniforms from the 70’s.
You’re right that finding them completely unaltered is hard and I’ve been fortunate/lucky enough to pick up other Pirates gamers from 1979 that are all original.

Thanks. Of late, there has just been a barrage of scoreboards being offered for sale. There are times when months go by with nothing but the Fort Pitt (gateway drug) scoreboard for sale.
