Earlier this week, I attempted to retrieve two graded cards from the PSA Vault, which is now the default Vault for many eBay purchases. The process to retrieve them involved paying only $12 - miscellaneous handling fees for having them shipped to me before keeping them in the vault for 90 days. After I paid the $12, both cards immediately showed the status of "Shipped." I suppose they are on the way to me even though there is no tracking information. It seems a bit suspicious to me to be able to obtain these cards from their vault for so little cost. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks.

Yes, I've used it before. Takes a while (8-10 days I think) to be delivered, but I think the default charge is just $1 per card.

I think it is $1 per card if you hold it in the vault for at least 90 days. At least that is what is was before the Ebay/PSA vault merger. It is more if you get the cards sent without waiting. $12 for two cards sounds about right. I always wait at least 90 days to get the $1 charge, so I am not sure about pricing when taking the cards out before 90 days.

I recently put cards into the PSA vault and the statuses took a couple days to change from something like “delivered” to “vaulted” so I’d assume similar for shipping them out.
But it is not expensive to have things shipped out. |

Looks like it is $1 if it has been there for 90 days, plus a $5 fee if it has not.

The process isn't very transparent, as you've discovered. Once you pay to have the item shipped, you'll get an order number for the shipping purchase. The item will then be marked "Shipped," but you won't get a tracking number.
One of my items was marked shipped on June 27, and I still haven't received it. PSA Vault Support advised me yesterday that they're running behind on fulfillments and will send a tracking update when the item actually ships. |

Do you know if they are shipped fully insured or require a signature on delivery like PSA does for graded cards?

My item just shipped (15 days from the vault withdrawal request). FedEx Saver with signature required.

I was just alerted yesterday that my two are on the way with FedEx tracking. I don't know if a signature is required, but maybe it depends on the item(s) value. Mine are valued at about $1350 total. Pretty good deal compared to how it used to be with eBay charges at various value levels. I'm also looking forward to a Goudey Ruth card shipping pretty soon, hopefully at the same $6 price which would be crazy cool. We'll see about that.
