Default Cards So Clean You Could Eat Off Them

What Florida company used to use this slogan that sold high grade ungraded 50's & 60s cards and were their cards that good or was there tampering?

For the adventurous eater, most of the cards I sell fall under the 5 second rule. Here are some current examples up for sale.

Default Polo Grounds

I bought a few items from them…. I was happy with the merchandise . The prices were pretty steep but the ads always offered a 20% discount…. on everything, all the time! I talked to the owner a few times ….. nice guy, knowledgeable, friendly… one card ( a raw 1954 Red Heart Mantle listed as “50-50” centering, best I’ve ever seen” ran for many months, and I got another few hundred off in a phone negotiation. Still have it raw, it’s a beauty. Probably should get it slabbed…

I bought a lot of nice cards from the Polo Grounds SCD ad's back in the early/mid-90's before I had a computer. When I started grading cards in the late 90's I got some great grades on those cards. I hadn't thought about them in years but a quick google search shows they are still in operation.

He was a little guy. I bought a few lots from him at several nationals for resale. He was really high on some stuff. I remember his SCD ads described a lot of cards as a Beauty!

I remember Alan Rosen used to have in his SCD ads hyping up a Mint card
..."corners so sharp, you can cut a steak with it"

Haha, oh gosh, Brian. That is the funniest lot of sad-looking cards.
