FS: 1902 cabinet photo featuring Richard Croker with many Tammany Hall heavy hitters including NY Giants owner Andrew Freedman (second from right). There are no definitive annotations on the cabinet, but it is near certain with this specific grouping of people that this photo was taken on January 22, 1902---the day Richard Croker sailed to Europe, leaving his American political life behind. Among the other people on the deck of the ship are Lewis Nixon, Croker's Tammany Hall successor and Naval shipbuilder; Andrew Freedman, shown in his last year as NY Giants owner; and two of Richard Croker's sons, one of whom (Frank) would die a few years later in an auto racing accident. Virtually everyone in the photo was a known New York personality in 1902. The cabinet originates from the archive of Charles Curtis, photographer for the NY Tribune and other newspapers.
