So, looking at this auction, https://www.ebay.com/itm/354485780859, it sure looks to be a Fritsch reprint. Don't think seller did anything wrong if so, looking at the cert the card is posted there and looks to be Fritsch reprint as well. Text and border is blue and has the same print pattern as the reprint sold on their site including the misprinted top left corner and same artifacts in the top right with the same borders, https://fritschcards.com/1920s-strip...n13GY9MjkGdpCs. Thoughts?

It seems like PSA has difficulties identifying reprints. Here is a recent thread concerning a Larry Fritsch reprint Ruth from another set (W551) that was also slabbed by them:
https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?p=2293413 Over the years I have seen other slabbed Fritsch reprints, especially from the W551 set. Brian |

So what happens when PSA says it passes the authenticity guarantee…?

If that happens, then PSA has ruled that PSA did nothing wrong and the facts don't matter. So nothing unusual.

Is it possible that this Ruth example is the "plate" card that Fritsch used to make his reprints? Just trying to spice up this thread a little.

How much is a real Ruth strip card like that worth in the same condition as the encapsulated reprint?
If a card is submitted to PSA and it is deemed a reprint, does PSA charge some type of examination fee to the submitter? I haven't submitted to either PSA or SGC in a LONG time and when I was submitting cards, I never had one returned as being not authentic/reprint.

The blue text/border is pretty much a give away on it

I see it now. Good thing I don't work at PSA.

You still pay the grading fee even if the card is not authentic.

The paper stock should have gave it away for anyone who has seen one before. This continues to show how bottom of the barrel the new hires are getting.

I never realized that the W512 of Ruth commanded that much. I can remember a time when it seemed like a fraction of that amount.
That Heine Wagner mis-label is classic. For some reason or other, I thought PSA de-certed that a while ago. Could you imagine if PSA had to pay out on a mislabel like that today? Here's another fun mislabel: E_T206_Plank.jpg

Looks like a 3 year old made it. How can you tell if it's a reprint or fake?

Not a reprint, because a reprint would have the proper 'Ruth' spelling. But PSA does not have everything correct on the label. This is indeed a legit Babe Rut card.

They will absolutely buy back the fake cards but the mislabeled cards are clerical errors they will not do anything but relabel correctly for no fee this has been discussed on here countless times but people just keep refusing to comprehend the information and keep making comments about them buying back a data entry mistake. They aren’t close to the same thing but people on here just love to crap on PSA anytime they make a mistake because as we all know they have never errored at work they are perfect.

That is all true. But seriously, an N162 Anson "in Uniform?". Clerical mistake that should have been caught. That said, I guess technically he is in uniform!

When I stop being lazy, I will probably send it in for a new slab and correct label.
