My understanding is that Willie Wells does not have playing days cards. I am wondering if this could be him on this Doble Aguila #169. I am basing this solely on the fact that the back of the card identifies the player as ‘El Diablo’, which was one of Willy’s nicknames. It could also been the nickname of other players as well.
Is anyone aware of a source that would help determine if Willie played in Venezuela in the early 1930’s? I’m not sure I’ll ever be able prove that this is Willie or not but it would be fun to know if it is at least a possibility. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
