Default Grading Companies -- strange thought

Has anyone ever attempted to collect a type card from all grading companies past and present and then tried to go even further by looking for different labels from some of those companies. I would love to see a thread where all the different companies and the lables thereof are posted

Regards
Rich

Perhaps a similar track - I saw a guy on a baseball discussion board who was collecting the 89 Griffey in all grades - 1, 1.5, 2 etc. Sadly, all were PSA.

Yes I have. Sold off most of them in the last couple years. I kept the oddball PSA slabs that are from specific events and I have the 5th and 7th cards ever graded by Beckett in testing.

I also used to collect flip errors. I still have a PSA slab that lists the wrong card.LOL

If I remember correctly there was another SCD (Sports Cards Direct?) after Sports Collectors Digest went out of business.

Lets see if this post is as strange as my last post. I capitalized the letters when I typed them but in my post they're all lower case. It even changed Peters post that I quoted to all lower case letters.

Isn't there KSA? I think they are a Canadien company that grades mostly Hockey. But I imagine there are some graded baseball cards out there.

It might be more difficult than you think as I've seen a couple of eBay sellers with their own flips.

MBA is some actual nonsense, can’t believe this guy was a grader. I can only imagine the amount of well-done fakes that get through his authentication.

He wasn't just a grader, he was THE grader. Is this the same business that gives out the little gold stickers or are they different iterations of Baker's attempt to stay in the hobby?

And a new player, Forensic Card Grading (FCG), who tout a higher level of automation and transparency in their grading. Heavy FB presence.

Yes.

Sports Collectors Digest (SCD) was considered a reputable and accurate service. It has the red logo on the silver label. Sometime after Digest stopped its grading service, a new "SCD" appeared......Sports Cards Direct. Sports Card Direct used a similar silver label but with blue logo. Sports Card Direct = POS.

Similar thing happened with GAI. The original GAI was considered, generally, to be a reputable and accurate grader. Friends of mine had picked up old GAI card and successfully crossed them over to PSA and SGC. The original GAI had the silver label with the G in the little globe. At some point GAI, essentially, went out of business and the folks that remained, phoenixed GAI into Global Authority.....which became a flaming tire.

I've heard some positive things about TAG
Though haven't seen a slab up close & personal
Their flip is not a sticker or paper inside the slab, its printed in the slab & clear

Yes, MBA, Baker's company, assigns a silver, gold or black diamond sticker rating to previously graded card slabs to show how well a card presents itself in that grade, similar to what PWCC has done.

I think if i did a 'crossover' to a sandwich sized baggie the card would go UP in value.
