Can anyone tell me why this can back from PSA as MisCut? Please anyone? I have no idea why. It measures exactly as others from the set I bought 2 years ago. I will accept any reasonable explanation.
Thanks, Bob 1975 T N Ryan Miscut.jpg 1975 T N Ryan Miscut REV.jpg |

Agreed, I think the right edge is not straight, but bows out along the middle. Cards like that sometimes get graded, sometimes get the ungraded/miscut from PSA.

Thanks for the replies. I will check tomorrow under natural sunlight and see what I can notice. Under this light I cannot see anything.
Thanks, Bob |

Yes, it definitely bows or bulges on the one side.

I had sent this Mantle into PSA and it came back the same way as your Ryan, "miscut" and unslabbed, which was a huge surprise to me. Sent it in to SGC to make sure it got inside a holder and the "miscut" is noted on the label.
The card obviously came out of the factory and into a pack this way, so it's just an unfortunate occurrence. Since it is an authentic card, it's really annoying that PSA refuses to holder these types of things. The great black background of the SGC slab helps show that the left side comes in and out and is not a straight edge. Apparently that's the 'miscut'...even though it's naturally cut that way, not altered. 1968mantleSGCauth01.jpg

Right, PSA's definition for this type of miscut is "irregular for the issue." Since the vast majority of cards are rectangles, cards that aren't cut into rectangles are therefore miscut.
