Hello everyone,
I would greatly appreciate if the Parkie collectors in this forum can provide an opinion on the Parkie hockey cards in the photo, whether genuine or not? I am out of my comfort zone when it comes to this set. Thank you for all your valued input. |

I wish I could articulate why, but those cards don't quite look right to me. There's nothing glaringly obvious I can point to, but something about them is off IMO. Hopefully you'll get a better answer from someone else.

After comparing those to quite a few on ebay, the ones in the first post look a bit washed out?
Here are some from ebay...they appeaer brighter and better focused? I am on the fence. Maybe a Parkie expert will chime in? .

For what it's worth, the backs make me think they are entirely real. Good luck!

Note the absolute perfect centering on all the cards in the first post and comedically sharp cuts. I'm not claiming to be a Parkie expert, but with these, does anyone have to be?! Last edited by BillyCoxDodgers3B; 07-23-2023 at 10:47 AM. |

I am looking at my 52 Parkhurst and the photos shown by the OP do look too brown/tan for what the originals do

Looking a bit too artificially aged..... and of course the hallmark of most fakes.... PERFECT CENTERING! Interesting to see what the OP thinks when he gets them in hand......

The whiteness of the corners on the Howe would be enough for me to say "pass".

Here is Harry Lumley's skate (from my collection) under magnification via loupe.....that Richard you posted looks very much like a pixelated re-print to my eye, but I claim no expertise.

Not at all familiar with this set, but the ones originally posted look fakey to me.
Hockey is the sport they play with sticks instead of bats, is that correct? Brian |

No new pictures needed to keep me far away from those.

98. Coffee Fable
Using a pot of Taster’s Choice or Maxwell House to artificially age a reprint in order to pass it off as real. Not an expert, but they seem to have been artificially aged first, and THEN someone started adding corner area wear to them. That's why (as has been noted) the sheer whiteness of the now exposed 'under cardboard' doesn't conform to reality. It would never be that bright on cards this old.
