Building an off-back set, but definitely ok with unique Piedmonts or Sweet Caporals. Tough decision, but decided to let the Ghost Barbeau go in favor of the Cycle. Curios which one others would choose for their binder ?

More of a front guy, so maybe not the best to offer an opinion. But here it is anyway...even though a ghost, I like the Piedmont's front clarity as well as its color.

"Building an off-back set, but definitely ok with unique Piedmonts or Sweet Caporals." It is your collection and so whatever you say goes, but I would argue the ghost would have to be on the back of the card to qualify as a "unique Piedmont" in an "off-back set".
Brian may be a "T-guy", but I know he also looks at the "A": https://www.net54baseball.com/attach...1&d=1666949495 https://www.net54baseball.com/attach...1&d=1666949498 |

Hey Ryan, because your Barbeau is only offset enough to show a small portion of Dot's elbow I would choose the Cycle but if it was offset like this one (not my card) I would keep the ghost.

I agree with Pat 100%
At one time I started picking up these “partial shift” “ghost” cards and after a few months I had a ton of them.. I came to find out the small shifts are very prevalent.. However, the true double ghost cards with the neighboring subject extending into the primary subject’s picture (like the one Pat shows above) are becoming extremely hard to come by these days. I’m guessing the small color shift would not appeal to an off-back collector the same way the Cycle does....at least it doesn’t for me Long Live the Cycle350s! ![]() ![]() ![]() Below is my favorite single ghost, one of only two that I kept |

Thanks for the opinions gents. Part of the off-back pursuit involves the scarcity/rarity aspect of the challenge, so these ghosts (or other unique card features out there) in my mind fit the mold...however, there's something to be said for flipping over a page of raw t206's and it being loaded with Cycles, AB's, Epdg's, OM, etc...

...it's the absolute best, I'd keep the Cycle too!
