Default 1925 World Series

Last night SD lost a postseason game in which the opposing starting pitcher got two outs or fewer as they took a lead of four runs or more in the top of the first inning. The last time this happened was 97 years ago. In game 7 of the 1925 World Series, Pirates starter Vic Aldridge gave up four runs and got just one out against the Washington Senators. But the Pirates piled up nine runs on Walter Johnson (in a downpour*), to win that game and the World Series.

*Commissioner Landis at the game and sharing a box with Clark Griffith, reportedly told Griffith he intended to call the game after the sixth inning (with Washington ahead), but Griffith talked him out of it. Griffith argued that Landis had decided to start the game in the rain to begin with, so he should see it through.

The photos are from earlier games in the 1925 World Series:

The Phillies/Padres game was ugly for the starters. Falter lasted 2/3 inning giving up 4 runs before being pulled. Clevinger couldn't get an out after facing 4 batters and giving up 3 runs before being yanked. Pretty sad, give the starter a 4 run first inning lead and then give most of it back before recording an out. That was two starters, 7 runs and only 2 outs between them.

Please excuse the slight detour from intent of OP:
but I just love all the backstory in the '25 WS.

After the Pirates take the lead from Wajo in the bottom of the 8th;
Unused in the WS thus far; a pick up from the American League during the season, with previous success against the Sens; all this fella has to do is get three outs.
Future HOFer's:
Sam Rice
Bucky Harris
Goose Goslin

Red Oldham (V100)
Cool, to me.
