Default Calling Vintage Minor League Collectors

It seems that those who collect minor league teams often find cards for other teams that they aren’t looking for. Wanted to create a list, to help look out for each other.

I’m a Buffalo guy personally and looking forward to hearing what you collect!

Default PCL and California League baseball

I collect pre-1930 Pacific Coast League baseball programs (especially Los Angeles, Vernon, and Venice) and pre-1903 California League baseball programs.

I collect Mets minor league cards and player postcards. Mostly 1962-1979

I do collect Buffalo Bisons too, 1963-65, the years they were a Mets affiliate.

I collect Memphis Chicks (Chickasaws) of the old Southern Association, also known way back as Turtles and Egyptians. Played at Russwood Park until the main part of the stands burned down spectacularly in April of 1960. Rocky Colavito of the Indians hit the last home run at Russwood that day, in an exhibition against the White Sox, and sadly the old ballpark burned down that night. It's believed a smoldering cigarette started the fire. The league folded up after the following season. I have a 1952-53 scrapbook of newspaper clippings and other memorabilia. It has their Chickasaw Chief profile embossed on the cover, so I believe it was bought at the ballpark. I have several tickets, schedules, photos, and other things in it that came with it. The clippings primarily focus on their 1952 Dixie Series championship, and are from the Commercial Appeal and Press-Scimitar newspapers. I have two t206 cards (Carey and Cranston), and one Red Sun cigarettes card (Babb). I have two baseballs, one generic ball signed by Luke Appling, who managed the Chicks to their Dixie Series title, and one game used official Southern Association ball, from a game versus the Birmingham Barons. Last, I have the special program from 1952, I think, entitled "50 Years With The Chicks", which is their official team history. Waite Hoyt, Hank Leiber, Lou Chiozza, Ted Kluszewski, Louis Aparicio and many, many others played for the Chicks at one time or other, and Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Joe DiMaggio and their Yankees teams played numerous exhibition games at Russwood in the 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s, as did the New York Giants, Brooklyn Dodgers, Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Red Sox (Ted Williams hit a colossal home run out of Russwood!), St. Louis Cardinals (including the Gas House Gang) and these are just the ones that I know of, off hand. I also have a recent copy of John J. Guinnozzo's "Memphis Baseball Encyclopedia".

I collect pre war minor leaguers who played on the Richmond Colts and other minor league teams based on Richmond,VA. I will also grab players who played on other Virginia based teams as well. I mostly collect the players in the T206 and T210 set but want to grab cards from other pre war sets if they exist.

I collect nearly all Minor League card sets (emphasis on PCL but am always looking to add more non-PCL to the collection as well). I don't stray into memorabilia too much but collect cards, player pins, discs, premiums, team issued photos/cards, etc. etc.

I usually have a lot of duplicates to trade as well (if that is something one wishes to do) including a literal ton of Zeenut cards, Seattle Popcorn and some regional issues. I also have a pretty stocked eBay store with around 10,000+ items that can all be used as trade bait as well for items that I am interested in.

I collect PCL San Diego Padres cards and team issues. Especially interested in 1947 Padres team issued photos, 1949-1951 Hage’s Dairy, 1952 Globe Printing.

PM me to discuss. Thank you for starting this thread.

Being a Virginia native who has lived his entire 78+ years in the Old Dominion, big surprise, I collect cards of Virginia League players from these sets: E222 A.W.H. Caramels (have 9 of 12 in set), T206, T209-2 (need many), and T210-2 (have completed this T210 subset). Several players in this PC appear in one or more of these sets:

Despite the fact that I live in the southern part of the country, it looks like I'm collecting Obaks again. I once had several and sold them, but I recently picked up a few. Strangely enough I currently own zero T209s, T210s, T211s, or anything southern minor league-oriented, and I couldn't tell you why?

I assume you're in the Richmond area somewhere? I'm in Glen Allen.

Default Rochester Red Wings

I have recently started a instagram account to showcase my collection of Rochester Red Wings memorabilia. More vintage items will be shown in the future. I am always interested in purchasing vintage Photos Autographs Stadium Giveaways cards etc pertaining to the Rochester Red Wings Rochester Hustlers Rochester Bronchos or any Rochester NY baseball items.

Please give me a follow at

RochesterRedwingsHOF on Instagram.

My ultimate goal would be creating a physical Rochester Red Wings HOF or Rochester Baseball museum highlighting the great traditions of baseball in Rochester NY

Also feel free to contact me with anything pertaining to Rochester NY baseball you may have for sale or trade
