I picked this card up today at the national… can someone explain if this card really is Honus Wagner?
It shows as “Honus Wagner” on the PSA label - but when I research it, it describes the card much more generically (batter facing forward, or something like that) Thx for any clarification (sorry for upside down image - not sure why it posted like that!🤔 ![]() Jeff |

Definitely NOT Honus Wagner...

Not Wagner. Build and facial structure nowhere close.

That definitely looks to be a "mechanical" TPG error where someone got the wrong flip in the holder. Obviously, someone was not paying attention when this one went out to the door. There is one other "in action" card from these game sets that is pretty much agreed upon as being Cobb sliding. But have never heard anyone ever claim that Wagner was in any of the other "in action" images. That is not Wagner!

The action cards are named according to the action (with a differentiating feature if there are more than one card with the same action). This one is “batter swinging looking forward” and that is what should be on the label, even if it was Wagner in the picture. So I agree with the previous comment that they must have stuck the wrong label in there.

Here is a great example of a Honus Wagner batting card (E300 Plow's Candy) for comparison. So the Barker card is obviously not Wagnerian in nature.
