What's a song that never goes old, always hits perfectly, and leaves you in awe every single time.

I love More Than a Feeling by Boston. I think it just perfectly encapsulates Rock and Roll from that era. Brad Delp had a killer voice, the double tracked guitar, just everything about the song, every time I listen to it sounds perfect.

We saw James Taylor in concert a few weeks back. I'd never been a huge fan but my wife loves him. I have to admit he won me over with a terrific show and Going To Carolina was one of the highlights. BTW...any Ray Charles song is a winner for me.

This is a great thread... I used this in class today to get the students to talk as an "icebreaker" activity. Of course, I did not recognize most of the songs that they listed, but did have Queen and Journey represented by the students. I played Let's Groove by Earth, Wind, and Fire, then topped it off with Blue Moon by the Marcels.
Thanks Steve |

Sultans of Swing - Dire Straits. Specifically the version I linked below
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Pa9x9fZBtY Knopfler's work on the guitar is incredible as always, but that druming is incredible as well!
