Default Does this count??

Down to just needing 8 for my 1953 Topps set...trying to complete while keeping up with the 53 set thread here on net54. Next card I need is #220, Satchel Paige...or do I??

Looking through the set this evening I see a badly miscut #201 Paul Palma. I pulled the card from the binder to see if I could identify the other card...and was pleasantly suprised...#220 Paige!! How much of a miscut on a card determines who the card belongs to??? HAHAHA...could save me a couple bucks!

You can see the blue sky of the top of the Paige card...

And look here..."Leroy Robert Paige"...plain as day!

So...does it count?

I guess...but are you collecting to win some kind of technically adjudicated competition, instead of having a real set to enjoy?

If you count watching an episode of Friends as spending the evening with Jennifer Aniston, then I guess you can count that as a Paige card.

I'd have to use the dollar bill rule. 51% of a dollar bill is redeemable at the bank for a replacement buck. 49% gets recycled as worthless.

Some miscuts can be so bad it's a little hard to determine. 99% LaPalme, 1% Paige, it's a LaPalme. But if I was building the set and needed Paige, I might be able to convince myself otherwise
