Hi Gang:
Wondering if there is any way to see something I have always thought about. What is the rarest COMPLETE set in the PSA registry based on the fewest individual cards graded for that set. Say for instance there is someone who has a complete set that has 75 cards in it. However looking at the POP report if you subtract the 75 cards from the guys complete set there are only, say for example, 8 other cards from that set that have been graded. I'd say that is a pretty rare set. Anyone have knowledge of how to research something like this? Or know any complete sets you want to "nominate". If so what is the set and how many other cards have been graded?

Not sure how to research something like this... but I have been trying to put together a 1947 Tip Top Bread set. Of course a) it's an oddball set, b) it is really a group of 11 regional sets (one for each team).
Of the 163 cards, I have 143 total. I currently have 125 PSA graded cards but many of those are duplicates so I only have 77 unique PSA graded cards (I have a lot to grade should it ever open up again at a lower price point). Currently, there are 836 graded 1947 Tip Tops meaning I currently own ~15% of all of the PSA graded cards. Many of the cards in the set only have a handful of graded copies (i.e. 2-5 total population) I am not there yet, but I am guessing that would be a pretty obscure set. Give me a couple of years! Also, note that there are a lot of ungraded Tip Tops running around out there. It is such an oddball, that most people don't bother to get their cards graded. If they would the population would be a lot higher. There are a lot of sets out there that only have a small number of the total cards in the set ever have a card graded such as the Arte Y Depotes. Just some random thoughts.

I think the most challenging part of your questions is "Complete". I started with a list of PSA "company sets" and looked for sets with 1-3 set builders, then took a look for a few I know are tough. Here's what I came up with:
1953-54 Briggs Meats - Top set 82.5% complete. 33/40. 220 total graded (192 "A") - not as rare as I thought. most players with single didgit pops 1954 Blossom Dairy Charleston Senators - 1 set 100% complete. 22 cards. 1 of each graded. Has to be a winner or tied. https://www.psacard.com/pop/minor-le...enators/126126 1954 Stahl Meyer Franks. Top set 100% complete. 12 cards. 164 examples graded (100 "A" or "1") 1958 Kahn's Weiners - top set 100% complete. 29 cards. 140 total graded. 1962 Bazooka complete boxes - top set 60% complete. 15 cards/boxes. 32 examples graded. 6 pop 1's, 6 pop 2's - another super toughie, but not completed by anyone.

I submitted the same question on the Pre War board and some folks are having a hard time understanding my question. You may have come up with the best answer thus far. The 1954 Blossom Dairy Charleston Senators of John's that you cited certainly fits what I was looking for. There are 22 cards in the set. John has a COMPLETE set of all 22 and there has only been 23 total graded. Thus if you subtract out John's 22 in the set there is only one other card from the set graded!! A Sam Hairston. My definition of a truly rare set!! This could not be topped unless there is a complete set with no other cards from that set being graded! What prompted me to think about this is whether or not I should get my complete set of 64 1959 Dad's Cookies cards graded. Currently there has only been 28 cards from this set graded.

Larry:
CLOSE but no cigar!! The complete set of Kiwanis Orioles that is registered has 10 cards in the set. The POP report shows that 12 cards have been graded. Thus two other cards beside the set have been graded. Extraordinarily rare, but John's set of Blossom Dairy that Howard found has only 1 other card graded, so he beats you by a hair!!

If it's for "bragging rights" go for it! You'll have the only complete set on the registry - definitely, something to brag about (though you could probably brag about having the only complete set off the registry right now!) If it's to attempt to enhance value to ultimately sell them, I wouldn't grade the whole set - only the better players who have player set following.
