AVailable today, are some previously unknown to me, 1956 Big League Stars Baseball Statues. These look exactly like the plastic ones, same poses, players and gold color like the others I have posted but these are made of metal. Rather heavy for their size but the same in every aspect to the gold palstic only in metal form. Some have the name readily visible like Campanella, Musial, Vernon & Mathews, some have the name almost worn off like Berra, Rosen & Mantle and the others look as if there was never a name present. No one I have talked to seems to know exactly what the application of these figures was other than maybe proofs(?) but I find that unlikely as they are duplicates of the plastic versions. All that said, I have no basis for pricing other than an increase to what is normally asked for the plastic ones. If anyone one knows what these are or how they were distributed please post here so everyone can learn a bit. All are in great condition, no problems to report.
