I have a few questions concerning the print runs, cutting style, printing type, ink types, and errors. How many releases were there or was it in a series?

Here are images of three slits. I have not examined this year in detail because I assumed that there were two identical slits per sheet, and all 5 sheets (of 132 different cards each) were printed somewhat simultaneously, since the cards were issued at the same time.

What type of errors are you inquiring about ? Variations ? Printing errors ? Uncorrected mistakes ?

Variations I would guess to be the correct category. It is a card with several different identifiers, 2 of which make me think there might have been a print-run correction such as a new printing plate or even a second run. The corrected version is almost always crisp in the registration and has vibrant colors. I have also found 3 out of 1000s with a unique micro dot and vivid colors that all grade 7+, several different variations based on color saturation.

I have the regular and mini sets and collect variations, variants and recurring print defects for both, but not the kind you seem to be inquiring about

Plates do wear out in time and need to be replaced.
I haven't seen that many oddities for 75, but I wouldn't be surprised to see stuff like you have if I saw enough of them. I do have what's basically a 75 green tint, from a cheap box at a show, no fading on the border and no reason to think someone faded just the image on purpose. |
