Great sign, and I love the way the numbers are applied on that helmet! Greg |

Wow impressive stuff! I can’t compete with those gems but I’m pleased to add this Bob Prince Stein to my collection after a bit of a dry spell. Tomorrow I’m flying in to help out at the Clemente museum this week. The Pirates are honoring the 1971 team on Saturday and I will be in attendance “collecting” some great memories.

I picked this up this week. It's the part of the voucher that was sent in when enough tabs were collected from Redman cards to redeem for a cap. I'd not seen one for sale before. It'll go nicely with the run of 52-55 Redman sets that I'm working on.

I picked up this one for my Saints collection. He was in St. Paul from 1919 to 1921, before going back to the Yankees in time for the 1921 World Series.

Really excited about this pickup.
Lineup cards from Oct 7, 1944, Game 4 of the 1944 World Series. The 1944 World Series was the last WS to feature two teams who played their home games in the same stadium. The Cardinals won Game 4, 5-1 behind a complete game from Harry Brecheen. In an example of baseball during the war (with so many players drafted), Browns starting pitcher Sig Jakucki had been out of baseball for 5 years before returning in '44 and winning 13 games during the regular season. Significantly, this game featured Stan Musial hitting a 2-run homer. This would represent the only Playoff Homerun of Musial's career. The Cardinals lineup card was filled out by HOF manager Billy Southworth. The Browns lineup is signed by manager Luke Sewell. The lineups also come with a letter from William Harridge to umpire (and former player) George Pipgras informing him that he would be umping the series. |

I recently picked up a lot of misc items that included 2 B18 blankets and a couple of photos. The pictures on the listing weren't great but I was expecting them to be a couple of cheap framed prints. Turns out that they're 1952 Wheaties Tin Tray Premiums.
I'm pretty happy. If I can pick up the Kiner and the Robinson Trays for the same $19 that this lot cost - I'll be over the moon!

Not really a RPPC collector but I did pick up 3 recently that pictures the 1918 Camp Funston baseball team. This team had many MLBers and higher profile athletes. The two came from one of the players but are not signed on the back just short messages so hard to determine which player.
Pete Alexander did play on this team but he was not in camp when they played the Saint Louis Cardinals 2nd teamers and it does not look like to me he is in the team picture...but could be the tall guy standing 5th from the left...but not sure if he wore Army issued glasses which this guy is. I bought them bc Win Noyes, who would play briefly for the 1919 White Sox, was on this team and is very likely in the team photo...just cant tell which one he is (I have 3 good candidates) |

This month has turned up some fantastic items for my various Cleveland Baseball collections.
1. 1948 Fahrland Fuel Co. Cleveland Indians "Pocket Wallet " Schedule 2. 1950s Royal Castle Hamburgers 8x10 Premium with Jimmy Dudley and Vic Wertz 3. 1961 Carrollton Playgrounds Boosters Club (New Orleans) Baseball Awards Night program, with Jim Piersall on the cover w/ autograph I am a sucker for event programs with Cleveland Baseball stars on the cover. In this case, Jim Piersall was invited to present the award to the City Champs for 1961, the "Holsum Sunbeams," winners in the 11yr old division. Jim Piersall played for the Cleveland Indians from 1959-61 and is depicted in his Cleveland uniform. On Oct 5. 1961 he was traded to the Washington Senators. As this Baseball Awards Night took place end of October 1961, they kept the Cleveland pic but took care to note his new team. If anyone has any other event programs with Cleveland ballplayers in particular, I am interested!

Guys...........I'm thrilled to have picked up this 1929 Purdue Big 10 Champions pillow case this morning at an antique show. The colors and condition are fantastic with only a few small moth holes in the felt. It measures almost 2 feet square including the tassels. And the best part is that my wife loves it, too! Do folks usually frame these, as it's a little thick?

It's been a looong time since I've picked up anything. Found this 'gem' the other day. It's small which is why I picked it up. It's 1 size up from a gem (1/2" x 1") ie 1/16 plate (1 5/8" x 2 1/8"). If I ever wanted to do a tintype run to compete with all the T206 guys on the other side of the house, I'm confident that I'd have a near set of all sizes (including a few gems) except for full plate
![]() It's mounted between two different card stocks. I'm certain that I've seen this exact player in another format/size but unable to find it on google atm. |
