This brings back a lot of memories for me ...

In 1996, I was in middle school and my older sister purchased an N64 system for me. This was my first-ever console. I wanted Super Nintendo when I was younger (so that I could play Street Fighter), but my dad's friend's little son had a seizure while playing with his console and my dad always thought that they rotted our brains. What my dad didn't understand was that this kid was ALREADY suffering from epilepsy (or something like that!) Anyhow, I wasn't allowed to have one until my teens (thanks to my sister!)

SUPER MARIO 64 was one of the first games I played after getting my N64. I rented it from a nearby video store. It did make me feel dizzy a few times since I wasn't used to the 3D graphics, but eventually I got used to it.

My favorite N64 game of all-time will always be GOLDENEYE though. It was a first-person shooter game and my buddy and I would play it for hours!

Best years of my life, man. There is no card that can bring back that happiness for me.

GREATEST GAME EVER! Me and a couple buddies were just talking about GE in a Twitter personal chat.

In fact, some were saying TimeSplitters or Perfect Dark were on the same level, so I threw a poll up.

IMO there will never be another GE. GE did everything before anyone else did anything.

And that’s super rare for a licensed game, especially back in the day. More often than not, paying for licensing took up most of the budget, and left no room for quality game play.

I wonder how many of these video games are just laying around somewhere, completely forgotten about? Crazy stuff but the demand is there. Who woulda thunk it?

Every thread needs a...

Several years back, my sister was telling me that she found about a half dozen boxes (empty) from video games my nephew played in the 90's. She was going to throw them away. I suggested she put them on Ebay. Sure enough, she had several bidders and they sold for a decent amount of money. I didn't receive any compensation for my suggestion.

I would guess that the grading would be similar to an unopened pack of cards, factory-sealed record album, bottle of wine, etc.: it is based on what you can see with the assumption that what is inside is what is meant to be inside.

I want to say it's ridiculous, but here we are a good majority of us collecting pieces of cardboard with pictures of dead people on them. Hey if you have the money, and it makes you happy, I'm not going to question it.

And clearly you can no longer play it, for fear of nicking the perfectly centered/sharp cornered cabinet... but it maximizes value, so well worth the $1500 grading fee.
