Default FS: 1968 Nolan Ryan RC and 1961 High Number Mantle AS, Both PSA 4

Long story short. I shredded the rotator cuff in my right shoulder, and the MRI showed all sorts of other issues compounding the problem, too. Just my frickin' luck!!! Surgery is scheduled for next week, and I just found out my deductible is so through the roof that it would knock Santa and his antlered friends all the way to Jupiter, so I gotta raise some money to help defray the painful cost. (I know, who cares, right?? We all have our own problems.)

On a side note, Nolan Ryan continuously threw baseballs at 100 MPH for like 40 straight years and his entire shoulder capsule is still in perfect shape?????? Come on, man!!!!!! Are you kidding me????!!!!! But I digress.

The first two cards available for sale are a 1968 Topps #177 Nolan Ryan Rookie Card, and a 1961 Topps #578 Mickey Mantle All Star. Two huge cards from the 60's and keys to their respective sets, each graded a straight PSA 4.

(Many people on the site hate this, but it is what it is...) I am not sure what I'm looking to get for them, but I would like to do well.

Here are some comps...

The Nolan Ryan Rookie Card is traded regularly in all grades (the one available here is centered pretty nicely) and here are the last fifteen PSA 4 eBay sales (I even left in the ones with qualifiers)...

PSA 4 MK - $650
PSA 4 MC - $660
PSA 4 - $1,025.00
PSA 4 - $1,299.99
PSA 4 - $1,100.00
PSA 4 - $1,200.00
PSA 4 MK - $1,050,00
PSA 4 - $1,124.45
PSA 4 - $1,150.00
PSA 4 - $1,250.00
PSA 4 - $985
PSA 4 MC - $999.99
PSA 4 - $1,200.00
PSA 4 - $1,300.00
PSA 4 - $1,200.00

None of these prices reflect the added costs of tax and shipping costs.
There is a multitude of Ryan PSA 4s on eBay right now with prices climbing into the stratosphere.

The 1961 High Number Mantle is a lot tougher to gauge, most likely owing to the fact that it is a much scarcer high number, so quantities are more limited. Here is a hodgepodge of cards recently sold in 4 and below to give an idea of what lower graded examples are generally going for (so some extrapolation is required)...

PSA 4 - $425
PSA 4 - $799.96
PSA 2 - $450
PSA 3 - $380.04
SGC 4 (ridiculously OC) - $519
PSA 2 - $350
BVG 3.5 - $425
BVG 4 - $430
PSA 4 - $450

I don't see a single Hi# Mantle in PSA 4 listed on eBay at the moment, but we all know that Mantles do nothing but go upwards.

If you're interested in either card, give me a shout. Again, I realize the lack of an asking price could be annoying, but you can see what others have sold for and/or what sellers are asking for them on the 'Bay, so I would like to get a comparable price.

Anyway, if you have any questions, need more info, want to see other scans/pics, or want to throw an offer my way, LMK.

Thanks for the look...and remember to always do your proper shoulder stretches before pounding the heavy bag!

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.

For those of you who asked what other 'big money' cards I have available for sale, here's a pair that qualifies.

The last two PSA 10 1973 Kellogg's #16 Nolan Ryan cards sold for $461 and $599.99, and the only(?) PSA 6 sale of the crazy rare 1973 Topps #280 Al Kaline 'Band-Aid/Bandage' variation was $675...

I'll have to dig around a bit to find some other great cards to put on the block.

Bump it. Sold a couple of things from my bucket that people asked about, but the offers for the cards actually shown here were lower than I hoped for and expected (but I don't blame anyone, as I would've done the same thing), so they're still available. Surgery is Monday, so if you're interested in making an offer, do it stat (see what I did there)!!
