Your opinion of grade for this 53 Mantle

Asking for a friend. He's had this card since a kid. He was wondering what it might grade, if he should get it graded, and by what company ? I realize the scans aren't clear but he wanted the card to remain in the holder.

If it's real, that centering is pretty sweet, so that'll raise the desire for it tremendously. But if that screw-down has squashed it, he might be looking at just an 'authentic' grade.

Great color and centering, the crease in upper left is going to hurt a bit. I’m never good at these things but would guess 1.5-2 at SGC. I'm gonna edit to 1.5, I think they will view the lower left as paper loss.

I know my 53 Topps card stock. I own many 53 Topps and handled them enough to know it's real. Besides, I've known the card and the owner as kids, long before anyone ever produced a fake one. I was sure I'd get the "it's fake" response.

PSA is only open for Super Express I think? That's $300/card.

A, 1, or 2 if real. Impossible to say much with that scan.

If you think real send a clearer scan. Otherwise you will get responses like your scan. The front and back are whiter than they should be.

Are those really scans? They look more like phone photos, with the shadow and blurry exposure.

I think this group is too harsh, even for PSA graders. Looks like a 3 to me.
