Wow, I am a very occasional submitter to grading companies.... I obviously don’t pay much attention to the business of TPGs
But when the h#%% did SGC increase its rates from $15 to $75/card?? It just does not make sense to send in “maybe $150” value cards anymore for grading. I’d be interested to hear... at $30-$75 per card to grade, what is your logic for when it makes sense to submit a card for grading? Like many of you, I sell my extra cards to help fund my own collection needs - used to justify sending 10-20 cards in at $15/pop. Now? Hard to justify - appreciate your insights, fellow Net54ers. They went from $15 to $25 a couple of months ago, then tripled to $75 once PSA announced it was shutting down any submission level under $300 until July at the earliest.

It's not a good time to submit for grading. If you can wait it out, you're probably best off doing so. If you have something you urgently need to sell, and want to maximize your return, then I suppose it's time to make the tough decisions and perhaps bite the bullet. It won't be timely or cheap.
But if it's a decision just for your own collection, patience is a definite virtue. Last edited by perezfan; 05-02-2021 at 05:32 PM. |

At $75 per card I doubt I will own many raw cards worth enough to justify that kind of fee. Aside from the bulk submissions advertised here in the past I haven't submitted a card myself in years. I plan to stick to cards that are already graded in the future.

How about $75 to reholder any card under $7500! $75 for a buck worth of plastic.
