Default F/S Mickey Cochrane Navy All-Stars Pennant

PENNANT NO LONGER FOR SALE . 1943 Mickey Cochrane Great Lakes Naval Training Center vs. Ford Rouge All-Stars Pennant. The game was played at Ford Rotunda Field in Dearborn MI in front of only 6,000 fans. Great crossed bats design with reference to Cochrane . The pennant condition is solid with only flaw missing a portion of one tassel. Vivid purple colors both front and back sharp tip no tears or paint cracking. Possible lone survivor, I've never seen another in 35 years collecting and attending shows in Michigan. Thanks. Adam

BUMP. Reduced. PM if interest. Make me an offer, all I can do is say no. Two more days then taking this insanely rare pennant off the market and back into collection. Adam

I thought someone was looking for this pennant and placed a wanted ad. Did you check the BST memorabilia thread or search feature? This is a rare pennant and in very nice condition. Good luck.

Yes.... Someone here was definitely seeking this very pennant, and even started a separate thread on it. It wasn't even long ago.... maybe 3 - 4 weeks, max.

Really surprised he hasn't reached out to you. Perhaps someone here remembers the original poster, and can make him aware.

Great piece!

Thanks guys (and Mark for the compliment). It is one of my favorite pennants that I own and I was stoked to add it to my collection. A Mickey Cochrane piece was my very first start in collecting memorabilia. I was a 12 year old kid and found a signed copy of his book, Baseball A Fan's Game on a book shelf in my Dad's study. I still have the copy. I believe my Grandmother waited in line at Hudson's bookshop at a book signing during the 1930's. She was a huge baseball fan. I did find the original wanted thread and sent a PM but its possible the person who was interested had a change of heart. No reply to my inquiries since I had a chance to take pics and post. Oh well, I'll gladly keep it. Actually, his timing was right because my office/memorabilia room is being transformed into a baby nursery at present and only my top pieces are currently on display. Sadly, the Cochrane pennant didn't make the cut mostly due to space constraints ( pennants gobble up wall space as many here can attest ). However, rest assured, it will hang proudly in my next home which is on the horizon.

I can't believe someone looking for this pennant would not make you an offer. You could easily go 10 years without finding one, especially in this condition. Although, I do understand money restraints. Usually I just push right through that and continue to waste my hard earned money on all this "stuff" as my kids call it.

I know it's been a while, but is this Mickey Cochrane pennant still available?

Still not for sale . I decided to frame it for display in my home. However, it doesn’t mean if someone made me a serious offer I wouldn’t give it consideration.
