I have told this story before, but my wife's maiden name is Fox. Her dad's name was Jim. He was born in 1938 and named after the beast himself.

He died of cancer in 1998. My oldest was born in 1999, so he never met him. However, as part of his growing pre-war collection, he has collected a couple of Jimmie and displays him proudly. He currently has a '34 and '38 Goudey.

This year for Christmas, I am looking to add to his collection. I am looking for a lower grade 1.5-2.5/3ish Foxx that displays well but won't break that bank.

I was looking at a '33 Delong in the REA auction, but it looks like that one is going to be one that he tackles when he is on his own as it is outside of Christmas present price range.

As an alternative, I was looking for a '41 Play Ball, a Tattoo Orbit, or a Diamond Stars card. I think he is probably priced out of the '33 Goudey as well and I think I want to avoid a '35 multi-player Goudey right now, but if anyone has anything in the lower grade/shows well of the above, let me know what you have and if we can work out a deal.

I know that we are only 20 days from Christmas and USPS is moving slow, so I might not be able to pull it off, but I think it is a cool collecting focus that has some personal ties, so I am going to try to help him build on it.

I have a 41 Playball Foxx. Raw, but at least a 3. I collect Yankees but have had this for 30 yrs or so.

Sounds like exactly what I am looking for, but his collection has been graded so far. Let me know your price and I will weigh that against the loooong wait of sending to PSA with Bobby's next submission. Thanks for thinking of me.
