Help with this Dizzy Dean document from 1950
I'm looking at this contract between the Yankee and Dizzy Dean. The two pictures here are supposed to be of the same one piece though they look so different. Both images to have paperclip rust marks at the same exact spot. I'm not sure what the story is with the holes at the top of the contract.
This contract has been sold in recent years by both REA and Goldin auction houses. The REA listing has an image of the onion skin contract; the Goldin has the more yellow picture. The signatures are exactly the same. The piece that's offered to me is on the onion skin. If they are truly the same contact just photographed differently, Goldin Auctions really should've taken and used a picture that more accurately shows what it is.
Does anyone know if such contracts were signed on the thin onion skin paper or does that kind of paper usually mean that it's some sort of copy from the era?
If I had confidence in the onion skin paper contract having original signatures, I'd buy it.
Any help offered is greatly appreciated.
