Default 78 78's - My Favorite Card

Hello Traders -
Sharing a strange romance I have with the 1978 #100 George Brett Card. He's not my favorite player, he is not on my favorite team, but I remember having that card when I started collecting. The hair....the wad of chew in his cheek....the missing yellow border on the left side of the card, the various levels of 'black stuff' on pretty much all cards making it nearly impossible to find a PSA 10 this card. Only 9 out there according to POP report.

While living abroad, I couldn't receive packages, so I had to keep collecting 1 card at a time...and I picked up a couple more #100's here and there. Then I got an idea....procure 78 of this 78 George Brett card. Send them all into grading, keep a full set and sell the rest....and likely buy the 9 and if I can find one, the 10.

Passing this along as I know there are traders out there that have more cards than they know what to do with. I just sent someone from TCDB about 125 1973 Topps cards, and while negotiating price per card, I just said "keep em". Could I use the $20 we were talking about, sure, but I didn't want them anymore and he was building a set.

if you have this card and wanna help me out on my project, hit me with a PM and what you are asking. To set expectations, my budget is about $3 per card.

If you got this far, thanks for reading!
Barry

I love it. A guy who knows what he likes. As a guy who owns up to a dozen of several different cards, and will continue to pick them up as I have opportunity, I completely get it. If I had one I'd send it to you (well, I do have one, but it is showing on the top of a cello pack in my collection of unopened, another story).

I wish you well in your pursuit.

Always liked that card also. However if you take away the All-Star logo, at least to me, it is a below average card.

I think the '78 AS logo is probably the best effort that Topps had for recognizing All-Stars.

Good luck with your quest.
