Hi all, this is my first post and thanks for having me . I’m a total newbie to exhibit cards and was looking for a few good sources of information. I have a 1921 Dickie Kerr Id love to get graded but can’t make heads or tails of the SGC pricing charts , about what would it cost to get this one item graded? Also do I have to be concerned with counterfeiting with the 62-63 stat back cards ? Thanks for any answers or advice

The exhibits cover quite an array of years and players. I am most familiar with the 47-66 issue, learning about the prewar issues. There are a couple of "resident experts" here on the boards one of whom wrote a book on them - Adam Warshaw - "Exhibitman" here on the boards.
If you can't figure out SGC's website I would just give them a call. While I know the 47-66 Exhibits have been counterfeited - I am not certain about the 62-63 Stat backs - I do not recall seeing or hearing about stat back counterfeits, but wouldn't be surprised to learn they exist. What got you interested in the exhibits? How long have you been collecting? |

Being either black and white or sepia, there are a TON of fakes and reprints out there.... be careful, anything with a solid white back is a NO GO ! Fun cards though and good value compared to other issues of the same age.

Back in 1990 I subscribed to the Penny Arcade and received six monthly journals which gave the history of the different issues. Steve Reeves, Bob Schulhof, and Sheldon Goldberg were the founders of the journals. Just wondered if anyone had any information as to what has become of these gentlemen?

Couple of those plain background (silhouette) Exhibits on eBay right now. A Todt and a Farber. I concur, I think the colors pop much better on them.
