Default Favorite Topps cards of the 1960s

This is my favorite decade of Topps cards and what I grew up collecting. Along with the 1955-1957 Topps sets, my favorite cards are here. I went with a top 12 plus a favorite test set to get one from every year. These choices are extremely personal and an integral part of my childhood.

1960 Topps Ernie Banks All Star - 1960 Topps is one of my least favorite sets, but I love the all star cards. They are high numbers and were tough to come by. I could pick just about any of them, but went with Banks coming off 2 MVPs and the colors really pop on the card.

1961 Topps Mickey Mantle All Star - This was a mini grail. The last card to finish my 60s Topps run in the 70s. Again the All Star cards are my favorite cards in the set. The difficulty of the Mantle makes it the pick.

1962 Topps Stan Musial - Growing up there were two players everyone wanted, Ted Williams and Stan Musial. This is Stan's nicest card and an easy pick here.

1963 Topps Tom Tresh - Another mini grail. The 61 Highs and 63 semi-highs were the toughest cards to find for me in the 70s. The Mets Team was the hardest card to find, but Tresh was a really tough SP and the All Star Rookie Trophy makes this card the one.

1964 Topps Roberto Clemente - Another of my least favorite sets, but my favorite Clemente regular issue of the 60s. Also being a semi-high made it a tough card to find.

1965 Topps Sandy Koufax
1965 Topps Hank Aaron - I could just do a list of top 10 cards of the 60s and just list cards from 1965. These are my two favorites, leaving out Rose, Yaz, F Robby, etc. is tough.

1966 Topps Willie Mays - This was a tough pick. This was the Mays card to own, the #1 card in the set, coming off his MVP year. Perry was the last card in the set and for me to find. In the end it had to be Mays.

1967 Topps Bill Mazeroski
1967 Topps Brooks Robinson - This was the first set I almost completed. I kept buying packs and kept getting 6th series cards. The Maz was my favorite card in the set and didn't mind getting extras of him. The B Robby is my favorite high number and was the card to have. It cost me a whopping .25, that was a lot back then.

1968 Topps Roberto Clemente All Star - Not really a fan of this set either, but really like the all star cards, especially the tougher 5th series ones. Clemente being in the subset makes it an easy pick.

1969 Topps Nolan Ryan - Another semi-high, the 6th series cards were the toughest for me to find. The colors and photo make this the one.

1968 Topps 3D Roberto Clemente - Collecting in the 80s, this was the second most valuable Topps card after the 1952 Topps Mantle. These are beautiful cards and no 60s list would be complete without them.
