Let's See Some Old Judge Cards & Ephemera
N167, N172, N173, N175, proofs, packs, advertising, etc. If it says Old Judge, let's see it.
I'll start with an advertising cover and a King Kelly cut from a large poster. (The poster image is a reproduction - I think the HOF has the only full copy of the poster).

I only have one right now, am biased because I own it, but but think this might not have been trimmed. Factory miscut, sure....I just haven't seen that many trim jobs quite like that. Oh well....
One thing is for sure, we won't be in as good of shape at 132 yrs old.

As I was posting my KC collection I was lamenting about the one card that I still kick myself for selling several years ago and then Ken posts it (above). The N173 Billy Hamilton....ouch! Beautiful card Ken.

Posted previously maybe 10 years ago, here is complete run of the 1887 Detroit Wolverines, Champions of the World. I've since upgraded many of the poses but this is as I listed them upon completion on SGC Registry. My good friend Joe Maples completed the same run more recently. Part 1

Taking a step back to the earliest days of the Old Judge brand, I present some early OJ packs. The smoking tobacco pack (paper label for a 2oz pack) dates to July 1, 1878 (Goodwin acquired right to the name on April 6th, 1877). The cigarette pack dates to August 1884. Both are the earliest examples I'm aware of (earliest smoking tobacco label, earliest cigarette pack). The image of a paper pack comes from an 1879 Goodwin advertising booklet.
