Hello everyone. I thought I would make a quick introduction of myself. I've lurked around a bit but I've heard great things about this place and finally joined. My names Josh and I'm from Iowa. I've collected off and on for about 20 years. I recently started collecting Vintage football, mainly HoF rcs but have switched to collecting 55 all american in psa 8 or higher because I always loved the look of that set. I'm actually going to give being a dealer at a card show for the first time this sunday. It's looking like my multiple sclerosis is going to prevent me from doing my job I currently have so I want to stay busy. So if you are in the Des Moines area check it out. I'll have mostly vintage and a few pretty nice pieces at that. Enough rambling haha. I look forward to learning a lot here and if you have any 55's I need for sale or trade lmk. Thanks!

Welcome to the boards. Make sure when purchasing high grade 1955 Topps All-American football cards that they are not sold through PWCC. Their friend Gary Moser loves to trim that set and still get them graded in PSA holders. Please read up on the threads that Peter has been making about the tainted submissions, or read the threads over on Blowout.

Thanks for the heads up. I frequent that site quite a bit but I wasn't totally up to date. Thankfully I already avoided pwcc for what seems to be a lot of shill bidding.

Welcome Josh! Best of luck and also what swarmee said above. My dad was a football player back in the 60's and collected many of these 50's football cards. Never had any graded so I can't be of much help but it's heartbreaking that these early football cards are part of recent events. Definitely worth reading up on and guessing they can direct you to specific breakdowns on blowout regarding football cards. Or maybe read through the archives here.

I'm not a regular around here and just popped back in recently, but welcome. And best wishes on your MS fight. I had a friend with MS and I know what you're up against.

AA is one of the great FB sets, you can't go wrong there. Kind of neat that it's exactly 100 cards too. A perfect sized set in my opinion.
