Update.. The Baker and Sisler passed JSA and are on the market to move now.. Taking cash and cash/trade offers... Thanks
I picked up these 4 baseball today. Ball one Is Fred Home Run Baker on a 1909 Spaulding 1 Baseball. I am not sure what it says below this name. Ball two is George Sisler. The ball is dated which I think it says 10/4/1922.. To me this looks game used. Ball 3 looks to be President Warren Hardy on a 1909 Spaulding 1 Baseball. Ball 4 is hard to make out, but it says last out, Bar Harbor on the sweet spot and Something Olker?? I would love to hear what people think of these good or bad... I love this old stuff like this... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

A few quick thoughts since there have not been any replies. The first ball might be legit I am just looking at it on my phone so I can't see it too well. The second ball with Sisler needs to be checked to see if it's been traced over. The ball has lots of where in the areas that you can see the white and the signature is over those spots of wear. I'm assuming it's heavy shellacked from the color, and the signature has kind of that dull ink look to it that I have seen on other traceovers. The third ball looks like the president signature is stamped like it usually is in that location, it's on the east panel, right? I can't make out the name it may be a league president from a different division other than the National League. The 1909 patent info on it usually denotes it's a ball more from a little later, I don't think they added it until 1914 and it stayed with the 1909 patent date for around ten years. The fourth ball I can't make anything out though it may just be a trophy ball that someone wrote the score of the game on. Hope that helps a little maybe someone else can add some more thoughts for you.

Cool looking old baseballs. Isn’t “Fred” actually “Frank” Baker?

I was called "Fred" for ten years by another physician. I tried to correct her error several times, but ultimately just accepted being "Fred", when my corrections fell on deaf ears. ![]()

It seems odd that all of the balls have exactly the same discoloration. Have they all been purposely aged that way or were they all stored the same way and this is just natural aging?

I think the balls were just shellacked

Pretty sure beneath J. Franklin Baker it reads "Mgr. Easton". Baker managed in Easton (MD), Eastern Shore League, 1924-25.
