Hi everyone:
Just a quick note to let you all know that the LOTG Spring, 2019 auction is open for bidding. We're still adding in descriptions, but they'll all be done shortly. PDF catalogs have already been emailed to all registered bidders, and printed catalogs went in the mail to active bidders today. Meanwhile, the auction is open. I'm pretty thrilled with this one; it's got a fantastic assortment of advertising display pieces, vintage tickets and passes, and scorecards - more than I think we've ever offered before. There's also the beginning of an amazing collection of signed cards, mostly from the 1950s (but some 1940s and a few 1930s), the entire collection of a long-time hobbyist who's been collecting signed cards since long before it was "in." As usual, there's a fantastic assortment of things you don't see every day, from tough memorabilia, 19th Century material, even some tough Regionals. Some of my favorite lots in the auction include Lot #1: Incredible 19191-20 Joe Jackson Type 1 Portrait Lot #3: Ultra-Rare N690 Kalamazoo Bats Jim O'Rourke - one of three known, highest-graded example! Lot #7: Henry Chadwick c.1890 Cabinet Photo by Frank Pearsall The auction closes on April 13. The official opening announcement will go out later tonight or tomorrow morning, but the auction is open for bidding now. Please have a look, if you're so inclined, and best of luck to anyone who bids. -Al PS: to answer a question, yes - the auction opened late last night. Typically, the night before we launch, I open it up in the wee hours when I don't think anyone is watching, just so I can proof some things. Last night when I did it, there were some people paying attention, and almost immediately after I opened it, people started bidding. SO, I just left it open! I'm always excited to hear when your auction is ready for bidding!!! The variety of offerings is extraordinary and most enticing!!! A dozen or so bids are on their way. Great job, as always, my good friend. Best, Barry

Barry where have you gone, it seems the past few years you never post except when LOTG announces an auction?
