Elmer Layden FOUR HORSEMEN Notre Dame safety kit. Bit-o-honey candy premium 1940's
[B]SCARCE PREMIUM from BIT-O-HONEY CANDY BAR. This is a safety club kit in unused exc plus condition.
Contains: SAFETY CLUB booklet, CHARTER CLUB certificate, 1 1/4" pinback, CHARTER MEMBER owner card, and original mailer unaddressed. A little about ELMER LAYDEN is he was a member of NOTRE DAMES famous FOUR HORSEMEN, COACH of NOTRE DAME in the 30's played in the NFL and NFL COMMISSIONER in the 40's. A nice set for candy and football collectors. I've see the pinback but haven't seen the kit yet. To become a member and get the kit you had to send the BIT-O-HONEY candy wrapper and 5 cents to receive the kit.
